National Honor Society


    ● National Honor Society was founded in 1921.
    ● Students are selected for membership based on scholarship, leadership, character, and community service.
    ● As a society, we primarily focus on community service and leadership opportunities.
    ● We hold monthly meetings, on the second Thursday, in the library.

    Key Club
    ● High School version of the Kiwanas Club. International Organization
    ● Meet twice a month here at school
    ● All service is outside of school. Volunteer work. Bell ringing, community service at local events
    ● Anyone can join

    Leadership Class
    ● A class designed to benefit students and the school with leadership opportunities
    ● Most events take place within the school. Meet daily for class. All events conceived and planned by students to benefit Relay4Life
    ● Only juniors and seniors can take the class

    Interact Club
    ● Interact Club is the school based club for the Afternoon Waynesboro Rotary Club.
    ● Interact has involved staff and students in our health awareness campaigns (examples: Breast Cancer, Healthy Heart, Autism). We have conducted Blood drives, fundraisers, and food drives. Interact also participates in Giant Pride Day at WHS (the student food court)
    ● Interact is well known in the community. We received request from political campaigns, churches, other schools within our division, YMCA,Waynesboro library, Park and Recreation, Riverfest.
    ● Interested students should see Ms. Carter or any member of Interact, including the officers.

    Beta Club
    ● The Waynesboro High School Beta Club is a service organization. It is part of the National Beta Club
    ● Our meetings are in school but many of our activities take place outside of school.
    ● Participated in the Salvation Army Christmas Drive, we painted the YMCA, we’ve worked with the SPCA, etc.
